Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Helsinki. My research interests are:
- Experimental laser spectroscopy. We develop new laser techniques in molecular spectroscopy. The current topics include development of infrared oscillators (continuous wave optical parametric oscillators) and there use in trace gas analysis and in medical research (trace gases in exhaled human air)
- Computational chemistry on molecular complexes of atmospheric interest and on molecules on surfaces
- Theoretical chemistry of nuclear motion
