The main scientific interest is dissociative electron attachment measurements of biomolecules embedded in ultra cold helium droplets (0,37K). In this measurements I’m focused in understand the reactions ate very low temperatures in the interstellar and upper atmosphere. These reactions could be directly related with live on the earth and origin of various molecules as aminoacids. Others interest are the electronic state spectroscopy of biomolecules (by photon and electron interactions) in the VUV region and electron transfer in crossed molecular beams by atom (potassium) – molecule (DNA) collisions, to check if the single process of free electron transfer to DNA is the most appropriate model or if it is better described by electron scattering by atom - biomolecule collisions within the physiological environment.
Currently I am involved in a research project: Investigation of condensed-phase Low-Energy (0-30 eV) Electron induced Processes for application to Astrochemistry and Radiotherapy.
