In my research, I use state-of-the-art ab initio methods to determine molecular properties of relevant species for astrochemistry (as are short carbon and silicon carbon chains, complex organic molecules, and diatomic and triatomic species). For determining observable spectroscopic properties, I develop original new codes.

I study three type of problems:

  1. Characterization of the structure of new low stability species or uncharacterized species (non-rigid or semi-rigid), transition frequencies and excitation coefficients. From the Potential Energy Surfaces of the different electronic states, conical intersections, and rovibronic, Renner-Teller, Spin-Orbit, … effects, are predicted.
  2. Determination of cross sections and rates in non reactive inelastic collisional processes. We focus our attention on collisions of the most abundant astrophysical species with H2 and He.
  3. Kinetic and thermodynamic studies of formation processes. Special attention is given to the iomerization and anion formation processes.
